The sports achievements of Gurbangeldi Ishanov, a Turkmen student studying at Kent State University in the US, have caught the attention of American mass media. The US television channel WKYC prepared a special report about his student life, passion for running, and results achieved in long-distance races.

Gurbangeldi Ishanov’s interest in running began about a year ago with participation in a 10-kilometer race. Following that first step, the sport became an important part of his life. Since then, the Turkmen student has participated in various marathon and ultramarathon events, building experience in conquering long distances.

Among the young athlete's achievements, his participation in a 100-kilometer ultramarathon is particularly noteworthy. Recently, he also successfully covered a distance of 50 miles, which is approximately 80 kilometers.

For Gurbangeldi, sports have become not only a source of personal success but also a way to represent his Homeland abroad. At competitions held in the US, he performs with the flag of Turkmenistan and tells people around him about his country's culture and where he comes from.

The Turkmen student's athletic progress and life in the US drew the attention of the WKYC television channel. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, the station shared with viewers his introduction to running, balancing studies with sports, and striving for new goals.
