Turkmen student Selim Annaberdiyev won third place in the “Great Civilization” international essay competition and received a cash prize of 500 US dollars.
On September 25, a ceremony honoring the winners of the international essay competition was held at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan. Selim Annaberdiyev, who studies the Persian language, took third place in the competition with his work on the history and culture of Iran.
The award ceremony was dedicated to Persian Poetry and Literature Day, as well as to the memory of the prominent poet Shahriar. Students and teachers of the Cultural Center attended the event.
The “Great Civilization” international essay competition was organized by Iran’s Culture and Islamic Relations Organization. During the competition, participants were given the opportunity to express their views and demonstrate their creative abilities on topics related to the history, culture, and civilization of Iran.
Selim Annaberdiyev was presented with a competition certificate and cash prize in the presence of Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, and Cultural Affairs Adviser Abdolreza Abbasi.
Congratulating the winner, Abdolreza Abbasi noted that culture serves as an important unifying force that brings peoples and states closer together. He expressed hope that joint projects in the cultural sphere would continue to develop successfully in the future.
Selim Annaberdiyev’s achievement of a prize-winning place in the international competition became another example of effective opportunities for strengthening the interest of Turkmen youth in learning foreign languages and studying the history and culture of the peoples of the world.
