Arslan Hojanazarov, a talented student from Turkmenistan currently studying at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, has been awarded the prestigious Charles Scott Prize 2026 by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). He stands as one of twelve exceptional scholars selected across Scotland’s partner universities for outstanding academic performance and professional potential in accounting.

Established in honor of Charles Alexander Scott (1902–1993), the award aims to recognize top-tier academic achievements and foster future leaders in finance. Each partner institution nominates a single standout student based on strict criteria. Recipients gain official recognition from ICAS, mentorship from industry veterans, media coverage across ICAS platforms, and a £150 financial grant to support their studies.

Kat Devani, Executive Director of Education at ICAS, highlighted that strong ties with universities are essential for shaping the next generation of chartered accountants. Hojanazarov and fellow winners from prestigious institutions—including the University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, and Strathclyde—were invited to CA House in Edinburgh to network with industry leaders and explore chartered accounting career pathways.
