Turkmen weightlifter Medina Amanova won a small bronze medal in the under-69 kg weight category among junior women (under 20) at the Asian Weightlifting Championship, currently taking place in Tashkent.

In the clean and jerk exercise, the athlete successfully lifted 121 kg, achieving the third-best result in the discipline. With a combined total of 205 kg across both exercises, she finished in sixth place overall.

The Asian Weightlifting Championship is being held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, running through August 13–14. More than 300 athletes representing 29 countries across the region are taking part in the competition. Turkmenistan's national squad features 16 weightlifters—seven male and nine female athletes.
