A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between the State Concern "Turkmengaz" and the state corporation "Afghan Gas" of Afghanistan. The signing ceremony took place during the working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, to Afghanistan.

As reported by the "Watan" news program, this strategic document opens a new chapter in bilateral energy relations between the two countries.

Under the terms of the memorandum, the parties agreed to collaborate on:

  • Developing comprehensive gas infrastructure in Herat Province

  • Supplying Turkmen natural gas to industrial enterprises across the region

  • Fueling power generation stations in Afghanistan

  • Providing natural gas directly to residential populations
