Turkmenistan and Austria Discuss Holding High-Level Meetings

On Monday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a video conference meeting with Austria’s Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, Beate Meinl-Reisinger. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing top-level and high-level meetings in 2026.

The talks covered a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Special attention was paid to cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, the European Union, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides highly appreciated the level of cooperation on international platforms and exchanged views on international issues of mutual interest.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Austria were established on October 16, 1992.
