An important meeting was held in Baku between representatives of the trade unions of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of protecting the socio-labor rights of workers in both countries, exchanging experience, and strengthening cooperative relations.
Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan and the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.
The document was signed by:
- On the Turkmen side: Chairperson of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, Oguljennet Berdiliyeva;
- On the Azerbaijani side: Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, Sahib Mammadov.
The signed Memorandum is aimed at further strengthening relations between the trade union structures of the two neighboring countries. According to the document:
- Joint initiatives to protect workers' rights will be implemented.
- Experience will be regularly exchanged to improve the activities of the trade unions of both countries.
- New projects will be launched through the development of systematic cooperation.
This event is a testament to the fact that friendly and brotherly relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan are developing confidently not only in the economic or energy sectors but also in the sphere of social and labor relations.
