Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Guvanch Agajanov met with Dai Houliang, Chairman of the Board of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), in Beijing on Monday.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the gas industry. This was reported by CNPC’s official publication, "China Petroleum News."
The Vice-Premier noted that cooperation in the energy sector has evolved from a raw material trade level into an "exemplary" strategic project. Guvanch Agajanov emphasized that the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline and the development of the right bank of the Amu Darya River serve as the primary engines of joint development, enabling the implementation of advanced engineering solutions in new energy capacities.
Dai Houliang noted the stability of bilateral relations and confirmed Beijing's readiness to continue investing in Turkmenistan's projects by effectively utilizing the country's resources and the potential of the Chinese market. The parties also discussed the implementation of high-level agreements.
Previously, the company won an international tender for the development of the fourth stage of the massive "Galkynysh" gas field, which has a projected capacity of 10 billion cubic meters per year.
