
In January 2026, a meeting was held in Frankfurt between the Consul of Turkmenistan, Murad Uzbekbayev, and Andreas Jan, Chairman of the German-Turkmen Forum and Executive Director of the Federal Association of German Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (BVMW).
The parties discussed opportunities to expand cooperation between the private sectors of both countries. They also emphasized the importance of economic diplomacy and direct contacts between entrepreneurs for long-term partnership.
Turkmenistan expressed interest in the experience of German medium-sized enterprises in high-tech and innovation sectors. German business groups noted that Turkmenistan is a stable and promising partner, especially in areas such as manufacturing and logistics.
The practical implementation of the agreements is scheduled to continue in March 2026 in Ashgabat. Representatives of German business groups were invited to the exhibition and conference dedicated to the 18th anniversary of the Turkmenistan Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Association and to the International Investment Forum “IFT 2026”.
BVMW unites more than 900,000 small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany and has offices in 85 countries, providing wide support to companies operating abroad.
