
Turkmenistan and the European Union (EU) discussed the current state of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU in the energy sector, as well as opportunities for its further development.
The relevant issues were considered during a meeting between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, and Kristiya Pobil Borrera, Director of the Energy Security and International Relations Unit of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy. This was reported on Sunday by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.
According to the report, issues related to energy security, the development of sustainable infrastructure, and the implementation of the climate agenda were also discussed during the meeting.
The parties confirmed their interest in regular contacts, including high-level meetings, and emphasized the importance of continuing an open and forward-looking dialogue, taking mutual priorities into account.
Earlier, Turkmenistan had expressed its readiness to develop cooperation with the European Union in the fields of transport and energy, environmental protection, and the promotion of a “green” economy.
