In the construction sector of Turkmenistan, special emphasis is placed on introducing modern solutions aimed at reducing environmental impact and efficiently utilizing energy resources. One such direction is designing buildings with very low energy consumption that comply with "green" standards.

These types of facilities feature high levels of thermal insulation, smart lighting and ventilation systems, as well as renewable energy sources. Consequently, the building's demand for external heat and electrical energy is reduced. Such solutions not only contribute to comfortable living and working conditions but also help reduce carbon emissions.

A vital prerequisite for the successful application of modern construction technologies is professional training. To this end, specialized training seminars on energy efficiency and nearly zero-energy buildings were held in Ashgabat on September 2–4.

The Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute was selected as the venue for the training, which was organized as part of a joint project between UN international environmental entities and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. Professors and students of the higher educational institution attended the seminars.

During the training, participants learned about the core criteria for international certification of "green" buildings, the specifics of using energy-saving construction materials, and methods for effectively operating modern engineering systems under local climatic conditions.

One example demonstrating the practical significance of these approaches for Turkmenistan is the new building complex of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute. On September 1, during its opening ceremony, the complex was awarded six international "Green Certificates." These documents confirm that the facilities comply with high environmental standards.

The expansion of energy-efficient building construction will pave the way for further modernizing urban infrastructure, saving energy resources, and broadly implementing urban planning solutions focused on environmental protection.
