
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan M. Chakiyev presented a report at a government meeting held in digital format on January 30, outlining ongoing efforts to digitalize all sectors of the national economy and introduce innovative technologies into production.
According to the “Watan” news program, in line with the “Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2026–2028,” approved by a relevant decree of the President of Turkmenistan, a State Program for the development of the digital economy and an action plan for its implementation have been developed. These measures will facilitate the transition to a digital economy, the development of a national artificial intelligence strategy, the introduction and improvement of AI-related technologies, as well as the training of specialists in this field and the continuous enhancement of their professional skills.
In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted a draft of the relevant decree for the President’s consideration.
After reviewing the report, the President of Turkmenistan signed the relevant document to continue efforts in developing the digital economy and, via digital means, sent it to the Deputy Prime Minister, issuing a number of specific instructions.
