
In an interview with "nCa" (News Central Asia) published on Tuesday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan, Ji-won Ji (Lee Won-Ik), announced that thorough preparations are underway for President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's first official visit to the Republic of Korea in September 2026.
The diplomat emphasized that this visit will open a new chapter in the history of bilateral relations and further deepen the strategic partnership.
As noted in the interview, in addition to existing energy and shipbuilding projects, the parties aim to expand the scope of cooperation in the following new areas:
Ambassador Lee Won-Ik stated that one of the most important parts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's visit will be the first "Central Asia — Korea" summit to be held in Seoul. This high-level meeting is aimed at strengthening relations between Korea and the countries of the entire region on a systematic and institutional basis.

According to the Ambassador's information to "nCa," this visit is a practical expression of the Republic of Korea's strategy to develop friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation with Central Asia.
