On the eve of International Women’s Day, March 8th, solemn events will be held in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag to honor women who have dedicated themselves to raising the younger generation. At the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on Friday, it was reported that preparations are underway for the ceremonies to award the honorary title of Turkmenistan, "Ene mähri" (Mother’s Tenderness), to mothers who have given birth to and raised eight or more children.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that respect for the labor of mothers is the foundation of Turkmen society and, in this regard, signed the relevant Decree. Following a noble tradition, keys to new, modern residential apartments will be presented to large families in a festive atmosphere.
"Our dear mothers play a vital role in preserving the sacred family hearth and providing proper upbringing to their sons and daughters," the Head of State noted, instructing that the holiday events be organized at the highest level.
Supporting large families and creating conditions for the well-being of women remain priority areas of the country's social policy. This confirms Turkmenistan’s position as a state that has elevated family values to a national level.
