
Turkmenistan has opened its state border for the safe transit of foreign citizens leaving the territory of Iran. This was reported on Tuesday by the ministries of foreign affairs of the respective countries and the mass media.
Under the coordination of the Government of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, China, and South Korea organized the evacuation of their citizens from Iran.
Starting from March 2 of this year, key checkpoints on the Turkmen-Iranian border, namely "Howdan-Bajygyran," "Artyk-Lutfabad," "Akyayla-Incheburun," "Altyn Asyr-Incheburun," and "Sarahs," were reactivated.
According to reports, 13 citizens of Uzbekistan, 15 citizens of Kazakhstan, 23 citizens of South Korea, 8 citizens of Russia, and 25 citizens of China have already been evacuated from Iran through Turkmenistan via the indicated checkpoints.
As noted in the report, the Turkmen side provides the necessary logistical and organizational support to ensure the safe and rapid transit of foreign citizens.
