Turkmenistan Reaffirms Support for China's Four Global Initiatives

During a meeting in Beijing on Tuesday between the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, Turkmenistan announced its support for the four global initiatives proposed by China.

According to the Xinhua news agency, the Turkmen side also expressed its readiness to actively participate in the preparations for the third "China — Central Asia" summit.

Wang Yi noted the importance of strengthening the friendly traditions between the two peoples and emphasized the need to further develop the comprehensive strategic partnership. According to the Chinese Foreign Minister, the high level of mutual trust between the leaders of Turkmenistan and China creates a solid strategic foundation for the stable development of bilateral relations.

The talks were held as part of the friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to China.
