Turkmenistan's Trade Turnover with CIS Countries Exceeded 4 Billion Dollars

At the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) held in Ashgabat, special importance was attached to further expanding cooperation in trade and economic spheres.

Speaking at the meeting on behalf of the Government of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradow particularly emphasized that our country's trade and economic relations with the CIS states enjoy a dynamic development.

Touching upon the financial and economic indicators, it was announced that the total trade turnover of Turkmenistan with the CIS countries exceeded 4 billion US dollars. At the same time, according to the results of the first months of 2026, the volume of mutual trade showed an increase of more than 30 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year and exceeded 1 billion US dollars.

During the speech made at the meeting, it was noted that the CIS remains a very important regional platform for strengthening cooperation and developing mutually beneficial economic relations. It was emphasized that under current conditions, within the scope of global challenges and technological transformations, it is necessary for the countries of the Commonwealth to intensify specific joint steps to expand trade and economic cooperation.

Special attention was also drawn to the importance of the events held under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the CIS. It was noted that in recent years, a very large and rich experience has been accumulated within the framework of the Commonwealth in mutual relations in the economic and digital fields.
