
The General Assembly of the United Nations, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, unanimously adopted the resolutions titled “The Key Role of Reliable and Sustainable Energy Connectivity in Ensuring Sustainable Development” and “United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026–2035).” This was announced by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council held on Friday.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, the relevant decisions were adopted at the 64th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the Turkmen people, expressed sincere gratitude to all UN member states that supported Turkmenistan’s initiatives.
The Head of State emphasized that Turkmenistan will continue to strengthen effective cooperation with the United Nations and congratulated the meeting participants on the adoption of the resolutions of great international significance.
It was also noted that in March 2025, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the resolution “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.”
