On August 5, the "STAR.VISION" company successfully launched the "Samarkand-2028" and "Lampung-1" hyperspectral satellites into orbit off the coast of China's Shandong province. According to "Daryo.uz," this represents one of the largest international projects driving Uzbekistan's national space program and strengthening scientific-technological cooperation with China.

The "Samarkand-2028" spacecraft broadens opportunities for applying space technology across critical sectors, including agriculture, ecology, natural resource accounting, water management, emergency early warning systems, and urban planning.

The satellite's name holds special significance: it commemorates the resolution adopted at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Sydney in 2025, which designated Samarkand as the host city for the 79th International Astronautical Congress in 2028.
