
Uzbekistan and Oman, together with all participants of the Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Oman transport corridor, discussed issues of expanding cooperation within the framework of the Ashgabat Agreement.
The matter was considered during a meeting on Monday in Tashkent between the First Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, Mamanbiya Omarov, and a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Transport of Oman, Khamis Al-Shammakhi. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
The "Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Oman" transport corridor project, known as the Ashgabat Agreement, aims to create a sustainable transport and transit corridor connecting Central Asia with the Gulf countries. Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, India, Pakistan, and Oman participate in this initiative.
The document envisages strengthening connectivity in the Eurasian region and integrating other international routes, including the North–South transport corridor.
