Uzbekistan Proposes Ban on Filming People Without Their Consent

According to a statement published on the official Telegram channel of the lower house of parliament, the rapid development of information and communication technologies has, in some cases, led to violations of individuals' rights to control the use of their image. The main issue is the lack of effective legal mechanisms to protect this right.

The draft law also includes specific exceptions where obtaining consent would not be required. Additionally, the document clarifies legal aspects of using a person’s image in the context of employment relationships.

The adoption of this law is expected to strengthen legal safeguards for personal privacy and prevent misuse related to public photography and videography.
