A scientific-creative conference titled "Myati Kosayev — Literary Scholar" was held at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of the renowned scholar and winner of the Magtymguly International Prize, Myati Kosayev. The news was reported in the "Turkmenistan" newspaper.
The conference was attended by professors and students from the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and the Turkmen State Institute of Culture. The event began with an award ceremony for the winners of a book-reading competition launched in January as part of the State Program for the Development of the Library System for 2025–2029.
Speakers highlighted the scholar's significant contribution to studying Turkmen folklore and the history of literature. It was specifically noted that Professor Kosayev played a crucial role in establishing the Magtymguly Pyragy Museum at the university in 1959. His research on figures such as Bayram Khan, Dovletmammet Azadi, Magtymguly Pyragy, and his efforts in collecting epics like "Gorkut Ata" and "Gorogly" remain reliable sources for researchers today.
