A New Step in Industry: Turkmen-Russian Metallurgical Project

Business circles of Turkmenistan and Russia are working on large-scale projects in the industrial sector, particularly in the production of ferrous metals. This was announced by Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government, during the international industrial exhibition "Innoprom. Central Asia" held in Tashkent.

The key feature of the project is the establishment of a full production cycle for ferrous metals (steel and cast iron). This involves more than just purchasing finished products; it encompasses the entire process from raw material extraction to processing and the production of final construction or machinery materials.

The cooperation between the two countries is not limited to metallurgy but also includes the following strategic sectors:

• Automotive Industry: Supply of metal products necessary for machine building and joint production.
• Oil and Gas Industry: Production of high-quality pipes and specialized equipment for the oil and gas sector.
• Construction Sector: Production of steel for the frames of modern buildings and infrastructure facilities.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin previously noted, Russian companies are preparing to bring not only equipment but also large-scale investments and advanced technologies to the Turkmen market. This will contribute to the further industrial strengthening of Turkmenistan and the domestic production of import-substituting products.

Ferrous metals (iron, steel, cast iron) are considered the "backbone" of any country's economy. The creation of a full production chain leads to:

• Reducing dependence on imported raw materials;
• Creating new highly skilled jobs;
• Expanding export opportunities.
