Visitors to the 31st International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan — OGT 2026,” held in Ashgabat, were welcomed by a humanoid robot named ALI. Powered by artificial intelligence technologies, the device was introduced to demonstrate to exhibition participants the capabilities of modern intelligent systems used in the energy sector.

Presented under the name ALI (Artificial Learning & Intelligence), the robot is a Unitree G1 humanoid developed by the Chinese company Unitree Robotics. At the international forum, it was one of the technologies highlighting the importance of digitalization, automation, and innovative solutions powered by artificial intelligence.

The Unitree G1 is designed to interact autonomously with its surroundings, perform various movements, and handle different types of objects. Its capabilities, combining artificial intelligence with machine-learning technologies, allow it to improve its movements and tackle more complex tasks.

The device stands approximately 132 centimetres tall and weighs 35 kilograms, including its battery. Depending on its configuration, the robot is equipped with between 23 and 43 movable joints. It also features an eight-core processor, a depth-sensing camera, and a 3D LiDAR sensor designed for three-dimensional spatial analysis. The robot supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless communication technologies as well.

The Unitree G1’s battery provides approximately two hours of autonomous operation. Its motion-control and force-control systems enable it to interact with various objects. The use of machine-learning algorithms helps develop the robot’s movement capabilities and improve the tasks it performs.

The presentation of the ALI robot at OGT 2026 reflects growing interest in the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence solutions in the energy sector. Such innovative developments create new opportunities for automating production processes, analysing data, and improving the efficiency of various technological operations.

The International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan — OGT 2026” is being held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The event will continue until 23 October.
