
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States of America, Esen Aydogdyev, held a meeting with Congressman Bill Huizenga at the US Congress building.
During the talks, the parties discussed the current status and future prospects of Turkmen-American cooperation, regional connectivity issues, as well as the role of the "C5+1" and "B5+1" formats in strengthening the dialogue between the US and Central Asian states.
The meeting participants also exchanged views on crucial regional issues and the possibilities of further developing constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Bill Huizenga is a Republican American politician who represents Michigan's 4th congressional district in the House of Representatives of the US Congress. He has held this position since 2011. In the current convocation, he serves as the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Financial Services, as well as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on South and Central Asia of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. The latter position makes him one of the key congressmen overseeing American policy regarding the region. This conditions the significance of the meeting he held with the Ambassador of Turkmenistan.
