In accordance with the relevant Resolution signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, 146 foreign citizens from seven countries have been granted permission for permanent residence in Turkmenistan.

This was reported at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. At the meeting, Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, reported on the work being carried out to regulate the legal status of foreign citizens and stateless persons.

As noted, Turkmenistan, within the framework of cooperation with the United Nations and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, consistently implements measures to prevent statelessness and ensure the legal protection of people.

To date, 5,294 foreign citizens and stateless persons have been granted residence permits in Turkmenistan. This measure specifically includes individuals who have family ties with citizens of Turkmenistan, are married to citizens of the country, and were registered in Turkmenistan before the introduction of the visa regime with CIS countries.

According to the new Resolution, based on personal applications, another 146 people have received the right to permanent residence in Turkmenistan. Among them are citizens of 7 states representing 16 nationalities, including 99 women and 47 men.

By signing the document, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow emphasized the continuation of the state's policy based on humanistic principles and gave relevant instructions to the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding the implementation of the Resolution.
