The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has taken a significant step toward facilitating international trade operations and modernizing customs administration. According to the Service, artificial intelligence technology has been successfully integrated into the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" web portal (tradebridge.gov.tm).
Starting from June 1 of this year, a new artificial intelligence function that assists in automating customs administration and clearance processes has become available to system users. The advanced technology offers the following key capabilities to entrepreneurs and institutions engaged in export-import operations:
This strategic project was implemented within the framework of cooperation established with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). It stands as a clear fruit of effective initiatives toward digitalizing customs activities, developing interregional relations, and implementing the "smart" customs concept.
The artificial intelligence technology integrated into the system operates in real-time and supports Turkmen, Russian, and English languages. This makes utilizing the portal even more convenient for a wide range of participants in foreign economic activity.
The implementation of the new digital system will facilitate the correct classification of goods, reduce customs clearance times, ensure accurate calculation of customs payments, and support the proper maintenance of foreign trade statistics. The execution of the project marks a historical milestone in the digital transformation reforms of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, contributing to the country's closer integration into the international trade system.
