The teaching of biology in general education schools from grades 6 to 12 holds great importance. This subject plays a key role in shaping students’ scientific worldview about living nature and life, and serves as an essential tool for instilling love for the Motherland, moral values, and work ethic.
Through biology lessons, students gain deep knowledge about the origins of life on Earth, its historical development, the structure of living nature, and the significance of its functions. They also learn about the impact of human economic activities on nature, their consequences, and biological changes at global and regional levels. This broadens young people's understanding of the environment.
Additionally, the subject provides scientific foundations for protecting and strengthening human health, including sanitation, and the prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases.
The biology curriculum consists of two parts: a basic course for grades 6–10 and specialized tracks for grades 11–12. These programs not only increase students' interest in science and knowledge but also lay a strong foundation for their future career choices.
One of the teachers achieving high results in this field is Annabeg Rozyyev, a biology teacher at School No. 3 in Halaç district. He emphasizes that biology lessons not only provide knowledge but also play an important role in nurturing students' love for nature.
