Global Studies University, located in the city of Sharjah, is accepting applications from international candidates, including citizens of Turkmenistan, for master's and doctoral programs starting in the Fall 2027 semester.
The university offers a two-year master's program in Global African Studies. Candidates can choose one of the following specializations: museum studies and cultural heritage, African diplomacy and international relations, or Africa-Arab relations.
The five-year PhD program in Global Studies covers areas such as language and translation, literature, culture, art, history, international relations, politics, and social sciences. Both study programs are conducted on-site in Sharjah in a full-time format. The language of instruction is English.
Candidates are required to have a higher education degree in a relevant field and a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. It is also necessary to score at least 6.5 in the IELTS Academic exam or at least 91 in the TOEFL iBT exam.
International students can also apply for scholarships awarded on a competitive basis. The financial support covers full tuition fees, student visa expenses, health insurance, air tickets, accommodation, a monthly stipend, and research expenses.
Those wishing to participate in the scholarship competition must have a GPA of at least 3.5. Admission to the university does not automatically guarantee a scholarship.
Applications are accepted until October 27, 2026. The first 40 candidates to submit a complete set of documents will be exempt from the application fee of 365 UAE dirhams.
