
Central Asian countries, Italy, and Azerbaijan have reached important agreements aimed at bringing cooperation in agriculture and the agro-industrial sector to a new level. The relevant agreements were solidified in the final Statement of the "Italy – Central Asia (C5) + Azerbaijan" international agribusiness forum held in Tashkent on Monday. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The forum is attended by Francesco Lollobrigida, Italy's Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry; Mejnun Mamedov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture; Yermek Kenzhekhanuly, Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture; Kurbon Hakimzoda, Tajikistan's Minister of Agriculture; Almaz Zheenaliev, Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry; and Berkeli Berkeliyev, Turkmenistan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
During the forum, issues related to agriculture, investments, and food security were discussed. Participants emphasized the need for active innovation, efficient use of land and water resources, and the development of solutions for climate change adaptation.
As noted in the report, the parties stated that strengthening cooperation in these areas will contribute to the formation of sustainable agro-ecosystems and ensure food security in the region.
Special attention was paid to expanding interregional and international cooperation, attracting investments, implementing advanced technologies, and developing the exchange of experience.
The international business forum titled "Innovations, Regenerative Agriculture, and Digitalization for Sustainable Agricultural Ecosystems" involving Italy, Central Asian countries, and Azerbaijan will continue until March 24.
