The "Garagum" livestock farming enterprise in the Halach etrap of the Lebap velayat maintains 58,000 head of small ruminants. Among them, over 27,000 head are sheep.

According to the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper, the farm breeds Karakul and Saryja sheep, which are well-adapted to local climatic conditions. While Karakul sheep form the bulk of Turkmenistan's sheep population, the Saryja breed is distinguished by its long, white wool, which is considered an especially valuable raw material for the carpet-making industry.

The livestock enterprise pays great attention to providing animals with nutritious feed throughout the year. Every year, over 2,000 tons of feed are prepared here, including alfalfa derived from herbaceous plants, forage crops, compound feeds, and nutritional mixtures.

Necessary conditions have been created at the farm for keeping and wintering livestock, raising and breeding lambs. Furthermore, dozens of pens have been equipped to house the animals during different periods.

The farm's specialists place special emphasis on preserving pasture conditions, strengthening the feed base, and ensuring animal health. The livestock are kept near more than 100 wells, 50 of which supply the farm with high-quality drinking water.

Experienced teams of shepherds constantly monitor the condition of water sources and pastures, as well as handle the feeding, maintenance, and treatment of the animals. These efforts contribute to the sustainable development of livestock farming and increased productivity at the enterprise.
