The possibilities of developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan in the fields of information technology, telecommunications, and the digital economy were discussed. These issues were at the center of attention during a meeting held by representatives of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications of Pakistan at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan.

At the meeting, Muhammad Amir Malik, a representative of the International Coordination Department of Pakistan's Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and the heads of Turkmenistan's diplomatic mission discussed future directions of IT cooperation between the two countries.

The Turkmen side briefed the Pakistani representatives on the large-scale work being implemented to digitalize the country's economy, public administration, and social sphere. It was also noted that exchanging experience in developing information technology infrastructure, telecommunications, e-government, and digital services could be mutually beneficial for both countries.

The parties emphasized that there are great opportunities for implementing joint projects in the IT sector. In particular, the exchange of experience in digital technologies, communication systems, and electronic public services, as well as the development of relations between specialists, were highlighted as promising areas of cooperation.

During the meeting, information was also provided on events and projects of international significance to be held on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's state independence. Among them, the meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty scheduled for September and the first world championship in Akhal-Teke equestrian sports to be held on September 4–6 in the Netherlands were specially noted.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to mutually support the initiatives of the two states on international platforms and to further develop long-term cooperation in the field of information technology.

The expansion of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan in the IT and telecommunications sectors could allow the two countries to combine their experience in digital transformation, implement new joint projects, and further strengthen technological ties.
