The Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between the Deputy Chairman of the agency, Suhrobgjon Bobokalonov, and the heads of the Turkish investment company "Finwest Finance Company", the Eurasian Association of Local Self-Government Bodies, and the joint venture "SD TURKMEN HALY".

The main topic of the meeting was the joint development and phased implementation of the large-scale cultural and tourism project "Kichik Turkmenistan" ("Little Turkmenistan") in the ancient city of Bukhara. This initiative envisages the creation of a special modern space to showcase Turkmen national crafts, traditional carpet weaving, ethnography, and culinary arts, as well as the construction of hotel and tourism infrastructure through the attraction of direct investments.

The project is grounded in deep historical and scientific foundations. Previously, an agreement on cooperation aimed at the thorough study and revival of Turkmen carpet weaving in the region was signed between the Bukhara State University and the "SD TURKMEN HALY" enterprise. The "Bukhara carpets" dating back to the 19th–20th centuries, which are famous throughout the world market, actually have Turkmen roots. The new complex and the research center to be established alongside it are intended to combine the ancient traditions of Turkmen carpet weaving with modern design, technologies, and science.

The parties discussed the financial and organizational mechanisms of the project, the procedure for its phased commissioning, and the creation of new jobs. Following the meeting, the participants agreed to establish a permanent working group to elaborate in detail the technical and economic indicators of this complex, which is set to become a new prominent tourist destination on the map of Uzbekistan.
