The creative team of the Nurmuhammet Andalyp State Musical Drama Theatre of Dashoguz Region has begun the new theatre season with captivating performances and creative meetings. In the second half of this month, the theatre’s actors visited Lebap and Mary regions, presenting audiences with a variety of stage productions.
At the Seyitnazar Seydi State Musical Drama Theatre in Lebap Region, the troupe performed “Saňa ýetermi owazym?” (“Will My Voice Reach You?”), a play based on the work of the same name by Döwletgeldi Annamyradow, a People’s Writer of Turkmenistan. The production, directed by Guwanç Baýmedow, chief director of the Dashoguz theatre, attracted considerable interest among audiences.
One of the distinctive features of the performance is that it involves only two actors on stage. Despite the small cast, literary expression, music, choreography and various directorial techniques are brought together in harmony. Monologues that reveal the characters’ inner worlds, meaningful symbols and events conveyed through letters enhance the emotional impact of the production.
The lyrical drama explores themes of love, loyalty, forgiveness and human relationships. The characters’ memories of the past and the emotions revealed through their letters play a central role in the story. The leading roles were performed by Ogulgerek Shyhyyeva and Begli Dowlyyev, who brought their characters’ personalities and inner worlds to life for the audience. The play was also staged in Mary Region.
The theatre’s creative team is also actively performing in its home region. At the beginning of the new season, audiences were presented with “Synag” (“The Test”), a production based on the play of the same name by playwright O. Ovezov. A fairy-tale performance entitled “Tilki dostlugy” (“The Fox’s Friendship”), based on Turkmen folk tales, was also staged for children.
The performance “Saňa ýetermi owazym?” is expected to be presented in Dashoguz city in the future. The theatre’s performances throughout the new season are intended to introduce audiences to different aspects of national theatrical art and enrich the region’s cultural life.
