A delegation of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan is participating in the 2026 meeting of the Global Forum on Cooperation in the Field of Public Security, being held in Lianyungang, the People’s Republic of China.
One of the main areas of the forum, which began on September 9, was a specialized sub-forum on migration management. Within the framework of this event, Turkmen specialists are discussing the use of digital technologies in the migration sector, the transition of public services to electronic format, and the introduction of modern technical solutions.
During the forum, representatives of Turkmenistan also held a meeting with the leadership of China’s National Immigration Administration. The talks focused particularly on further developing cooperation between the relevant institutions of the two countries, as well as exchanging experience in the field of migration.
The sides exchanged experience in the digitalization of migration processes, the transition to electronic document management, and the introduction of modern technologies aimed at ensuring faster and higher-quality delivery of public services to citizens.
More than 2,100 representatives from 139 countries and international organizations are participating in the international forum, which is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation in the field of public security. As part of the event’s programme, eight thematic sub-forums are being held on cybersecurity, combating transnational crime, the use of advanced technologies and other important areas.
During the forum, which will continue until September 11, Turkmen specialists will also visit an exhibition of specialized equipment used in the security sector. In addition, the adoption of a regional report covering the development directions of migration policy is expected.
