Jointly organized by the Ministries of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, along with the famous "KAMAZ" company, an international journey of autonomous cargo trucks was successfully carried out for the first time in the history of world logistics. This historic project was solemnly launched with the participation of the Heads of the two states within the framework of the state visit of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to Kazakhstan.
The innovative cargo trucks smoothly crossed the Kazakhstan-Russia border through the "Zhana Zhol" international checkpoint and confidently continued their movement along the designated routes.
Within the framework of this project, which represents a massive breakthrough in the international transport system, cargo trucks equipped with driverless technologies covered a long distance of approximately 3,000 kilometers. Thanks to the efficient use of digital and intelligent systems, travel time was reduced by more than two times. The complex route was successfully completed in just two days.
The implementation of new technologies into production and logistics not only saves time but also paves the way for significantly increasing the speed and reliability of interregional trade turnover.
Based on this first successful experience, the two neighboring states will continue coordinated efforts to deepen cooperation, expand the scope of the project, create a joint legal framework to establish sustainable routes, and form a modern road-transport infrastructure for autonomous vehicles.
This innovative project has become a clear example of developing digital transport corridors in the region and the world, as well as building the high-tech logistics of the future.
