The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan is taking a major step toward modernizing its consular services by introducing an online visa appointment system.
Beginning August 1, a new electronic booking platform will begin operating in test mode. The announcement was made by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan, Ravshanbek Alimov, during a briefing dedicated to tourism development.
The innovation allows applicants to schedule their appointments via the internet and arrive at the designated time, effectively eliminating the need to wait in long, physical queues. While this digital option enhances convenience, the traditional method of submitting documents will remain active, providing flexibility for all applicants.
According to Ambassador Alimov, the new system is designed to make the documentation process significantly more organized and user-friendly, particularly during peak travel and application seasons. The embassy noted that minor technical and organizational adjustments may occur during the initial testing phase, but the refined system is ultimately expected to drastically cut down waiting times.
This modernization initiative marks a significant milestone in making cross-border travel between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan smoother, more accessible, and technologically advanced.
