Active negotiations are underway to elevate trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia to a new level and expand logistics capabilities. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated this during his address at the Turkmen-Georgian business forum as part of his state visit to Georgia.
In his speech, the Head of State emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation between the two countries in the transport and logistics sector. Turkmenistan is currently conducting relevant negotiations to establish its own cargo terminal on the Georgian Black Sea coast. This project will help further increase the capacity of transit transport corridors connecting Central Asia with Europe.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the significant role of the private sector in implementing this important project. He called on the business communities of both countries to actively participate in this initiative within the framework of public-private partnerships.
"Our countries have enormous potential in developing transport, logistics, communication, and supply systems. We will continue the work being carried out to effectively utilize these opportunities, attract private entrepreneurs to create related supply chains, and facilitate the transit of goods and services," the Head of State highlighted.
This initiative is aimed at increasing mutually beneficial trade turnover between the countries, as well as strengthening Turkmenistan's position as an international transit and transport hub.
