Turkmenistan's energy sector is entering a new stage of development through the implementation of major projects aimed at increasing gas production, expanding exploration activities in the Caspian Sea, developing regional infrastructure, and introducing modern technologies into production processes. This is noted in an article by Steve Travers, Regional Director of the international energy consulting company "GaffneyCline", published by the "Turkmen Energy Forum".

According to the company's assessments, the international energy community's interest in Turkmenistan's vast resource potential is steadily growing. Currently, the main focus is placed not only on resource development, but also on the practical implementation of projects, the expansion of infrastructure capabilities, the development of pathways to new markets, and the establishment of long-term partnerships. In this regard, the continued development of the "Galkynyş" gas field is cited as one of the key projects. The implementation of the fourth phase of the field's development involves drilling new production wells and developing gas preparation infrastructure to increase marketable gas production.

Another promising direction for Turkmenistan's energy sector is the expansion of exploration work in the Caspian Sea. According to "GaffneyCline", the A8 appraisal and production well at the "Magtymguly" field, located in Block 1, demonstrated high potential during testing. Geological and seismic surveys are also ongoing in the region to identify new promising areas. The article also pays special attention to the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline. With a design capacity of up to 33 billion cubic meters per year, this pipeline is aimed at connecting Turkmenistan's natural gas resources with the growing markets of South Asia.

"GaffneyCline" emphasizes the importance of the balanced development of Turkmenistan's gas resources and related infrastructure. While the development of the "Galkynyş" field allows for increased gas production capacity, the TAPI project creates additional opportunities to bring Turkmen gas to new regional markets. According to the company's assessments, the development of gas resources, exploration activities in the Caspian Sea, the expansion of infrastructure capabilities, and the technological modernization of long-operated production assets create new cooperation opportunities for international operators, engineering and service companies, technology manufacturers, and consulting organizations.
