The high-level international championship in Kyokushin karate, held in the German city of Bad Nauheim, was rich in glorious events for Turkmen sports. In this prestigious competition, which brought together the world's strongest athletes, members of the national team of Turkmenistan showed a great distinction, managing to enrich our country's prize fund with a total of 9 medals (5 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze).
More than 350 elite athletes from 10 leading countries of the world, including Germany, the USA, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Belgium, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, and Turkmenistan, participated in the championship. The victory of our compatriots clearly proved the high position of the Turkmen karate school at the international level.
In the tightly contested matches, the following athletes of ours, who managed to overcome their opponents both technically and tactically, were awarded the highest prize of the championship — the gold medal:
Silver and Bronze Medals: An Example of High Mastery
The results of our other athletes, who confidently marched to the final stages of the championship and ascended the podium of the competition, are also pleasing. The captain of the national team Meylis Pashagulyyew (22–39 years old, up to 90 kg), the employee of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan Annadurdy Gurbangylyjow (22–39 years old, up to 80 kg), and Aynur Nurjanowa (14–15 years old, up to 45 kg), who represented our country among girls, showed great stability and won silver medals.
Myrat Ekayew (22–39 years old, over 90 kg), who stood out among heavyweights with his irretrievable strikes and fights, completed the competition with a bronze medal, further strengthening the historical victory of our national team.
This great success achieved in Germany is another clear fruit of the large-scale work carried out and the conditions created at the state level to develop physical culture and sports in Turkmenistan, and to widely attract young people to martial arts.
