In the framework of the 114th session of the International Labour Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland, high-level talks were held between the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Turkmenistan, Muhammetseyit Silapov, and the Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Gilbert Houngbo.
This meeting became an important continuation of the active policy and diplomatic negotiations carried out by the Turkmen delegation in Geneva since June 1 of this year. During the discussions, the parties analyzed the sustainable directions of bilateral cooperation in detail, paying special attention to the issues of modernizing the national labor market, improving the employment system, and implementing advanced international standards of social protection in our country.
These negotiations hold particular significance within the framework of the general agenda of the current International Labour Conference. This is because representatives from 187 countries around the world are currently seeking new and effective solutions to sustainably protect workers' rights under the conditions of rapidly growing innovative technologies, the impact of artificial intelligence on working conditions, and the ever-expanding platform economy. Turkmenistan's international initiatives in this field are highly valued by the ILO.
