Schengen visa for citizens of Turkmenistan: Where and how to obtain it?
For those wishing to travel to the Schengen Area, which includes 29 European states, the procedure for processing visas in Ashgabat is as follows:
1. Embassy of Germany (via the electronic appointment system):
- Countries covered: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Greece, Estonia, Spain, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Finland, Sweden.
- Note: Swiss visas are also issued for diplomatic and service passports.
2. Embassy of Italy (via the Prenot@mi system):
- Countries covered: Italy and France (short-term up to 90 days).
- Note: For long-term French visas and overseas territories, you must apply to "VFS Global" in Istanbul.
3. Embassy of Romania:
- Since Romania has joined the Schengen Area, visas for this country can be obtained directly from the Embassy in Ashgabat.
Countries not covered by visa services in Ashgabat: Bulgaria, Hungary, Denmark, Iceland, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, and Switzerland (for ordinary passports). Those wishing to visit these countries should contact the relevant embassies in neighboring countries (Baku, Tashkent, or others).
