International Experience in Financial Market Development Discussed in Ashgabat
A significant training seminar aimed at modernizing the country's securities market and developing it in line with international standards was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. The seminar, organized for specialists from the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Ashgabat Stock Exchange, was conducted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan.
The event was implemented as part of a joint project between the UNDP and the Ministry of Finance and Economy, aiming for the gradual improvement of the national economy's financial sector. During the workshop, international experts introduced best practices from developed countries in this field.
The seminar focused on key areas ensuring the stable functioning of the securities market:
- Legal Protection: International mechanisms for protecting the rights of investors and issuing companies (issuers).
- Investment Activity: Modern methods of effective management and attraction of investments in the securities market.
- International Standards: The role of international standards and regulations in the integration of the financial market into the global system.
UNDP experts noted the great potential of Turkmenistan's financial market, emphasizing that professional development initiatives in this area will contribute to the country's sustainable economic growth.
