Issues related to the work carried out in the country's agricultural complex and provinces were reviewed

Yesterday, on March 2nd, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyev and the governors (hyakims) of the provinces. Issues related to the activities being carried out in the country's agricultural sector and the provinces were considered.

During the meeting, reports from the governors of the country's provinces were heard. The governors spoke about the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the regions.

As noted, within the framework of ongoing agricultural activities in the regions, proper care is being provided to wheat fields in accordance with agrotechnical standards, specifically focusing on mineral fertilization and irrigation. In order to start the cotton sowing season in an organized manner and conduct it properly, necessary measures are being taken to prepare the fields and high-quality cotton seeds. In the farming areas of the provinces, relevant work is underway to conduct the spring sowing of potatoes and vegetable crops within agrotechnical deadlines. Furthermore, the governors reported on the preparations for mass cultural events planned in the provinces for International Women's Day, and the progress of construction at social, cultural, and industrial facilities scheduled for commissioning this year under the National Village Program.

Subsequently, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyev reported on the ongoing seasonal work in the country's agriculture. It was noted that currently, wheat fields in the provinces are being treated with mineral fertilizers and provided with irrigation according to agrotechnical norms. To ensure an organized start to the responsible cotton sowing season, necessary steps are being taken to prepare the fields and high-quality seeds for cotton producers. As part of the efforts to provide the population with an abundance of locally grown vegetable products, work continues on preparing lands and seeds for the spring sowing of potatoes and vegetables.

Addressing the participants of the meeting, the Head of State once again drew attention to the importance of seasonal agricultural work. He instructed to ensure that land leveling, furrowing, and ridging for cotton fields, as well as leaching irrigation in Dashoguz and Lebap provinces, are carried out according to agrotechnical standards. He emphasized taking all necessary measures to provide cotton producers with high-quality seeds on time and in sufficient quantities, fully preparing agricultural machinery for the spring season, and conducting wheat care and fertilization within agrotechnical deadlines, with a special focus on irrigation. Additionally, the President noted the necessity of high-quality spring sowing of potatoes and vegetable crops, fully preparing seeds and lands in Dashoguz province, and keeping strict control over timely payments between service enterprises and wheat/cotton producers.

The Head of State highlighted the importance of holding the events planned in the provinces for the March 8 International Women's Day holiday at a high level. He stressed the importance of taking necessary measures to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks set for this year under the Program for Social and Economic Development of the Country and the National Village Program, giving relevant instructions in this regard.
