The Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory announces the start of its admission campaign for the 2026/2027 academic year to train highly qualified musicians and singers for the country’s culture and arts sector.
Fields of Study The conservatory accepts students for the specialist program in the following areas:
- Budget-based: Turkmen music, folk instruments, piano, string, wind and percussion instruments, vocal art, bakhshi, opera art, choral and orchestral conducting, musicology, and composition.
- Fee-paying: Music pedagogy and pop music (estrada). Candidates must have a secondary specialized musical education. Applicants for pop music and music pedagogy may be accepted if they have completed a children's music school.
Document Submission Applications are accepted from July 13 to July 26, 2026, in the centers of Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary velayats, as well as in Ashgabat (for Ashgabat, Arkadag, Ahal, and Balkan regions).
Entrance Exam Schedule Exams will be held in Ashgabat from July 29 to August 5, 2026. The exams consist of two main parts:
- Professional exam: Performance (playing an instrument or singing) and an interview.
- Theoretical exams: Solfeggio, harmony (or music theory), and written/oral exams on the History of Turkmenistan.
