
On June 5, 2026, a meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the Central Asian countries and the United States of America was held in Tashkent in the C5+1 format. This event was implemented within the framework of realizing the Joint Statement adopted following the C5+1 summit held in Washington last November.
During the negotiations, the parties reviewed issues of deepening cooperation in the field of preserving, scientifically studying, and promoting cultural heritage. In particular:
G. Myradalyyev, Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, who spoke at the meeting, emphasized the importance of cultural cooperation in strengthening mutual trust in the region and consolidating humanitarian relations between peoples. The importance of joint projects successfully implemented in Turkmenistan with the support of the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation was also noted.
The meeting participants expressed confidence that the further development of the cultural dialogue in the C5+1 format would bring interregional cooperation to a new level. These interactions will provide great support not only for the preservation of cultural heritage but also for deepening mutual understanding between peoples.
