Number of General Education Schools in Ashgabat to Reach 160

The number of general education schools in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, is expected to reach 160 units in 2026. Official Turkmen media reported this on Tuesday.

Furthermore, within the education system this year, it is projected that the number of preschool institutions will reach 193 units, and sports schools will total 21 units.

In addition, plans are in place to complete the construction and commission the new campus of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, designed for 5,000 students, in Ashgabat.

As noted in the report, large-scale work is currently underway to modernize Ashgabat's architectural appearance, transform it into a garden city, and construct new residential areas.
