Important negotiations on developing trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were held on the sidelines of the "Turkmen Textile Expo-2026" international exhibition in Ashgabat.

A delegation led by Mian Mohammad Mansha, head of the Pakistani "Muslim Commercial Bank" (MCB) and the "Nishat Group" conglomerate, held meetings with leaders of relevant ministries and sectoral departments of Turkmenistan.

Main areas of cooperation:

  • Textile industry: The Pakistani side highly appreciated the quality of Turkmen yarn, noting that they actively use this raw material in their export products. The parties discussed the issues of establishing a textile manufacturing enterprise in Turkmenistan and setting up direct trade relations.
  • Financial and banking services: It was proposed to open a branch of "Muslim Commercial Bank" (MCB) in Turkmenistan. This step will help facilitate monetary and credit circulation between the two countries and increase investments.
  • Investment and information technology: The Pakistani side expressed interest in building a data center in Turkmenistan, based on the country's available energy capacities, as well as in investing in the construction sector.

The Turkmen side, for its part, confirmed its readiness to intensify trade and economic cooperation with Pakistan and to expand mutually beneficial relations in the textile industry.
