U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has introduced a new regulation requiring service members who have reached the age of 30 to undergo annual testosterone screenings. According to Hegseth, this measure is intended to monitor the health status of soldiers and preserve their longevity.
Service members under 30 can undergo testing on a voluntary basis. If a hormone deficiency is detected, soldiers will be offered voluntary replacement therapy. The Pentagon chief emphasized that the initiative is aimed at "optimizing natural capabilities" rather than artificial enhancement. This move follows the recent revision of FDA guidelines regarding the safety of hormone replacement therapy.
