"Play, Bakhshi!": Melodious voices of young talents echoed in Lebap
Currently, great attention is paid in our country to the development of art, the discovery of talented youth, and ensuring the continuity of our national heritage. To this end, as part of the President of Turkmenistan's "Turkmenistan — the Land of the Golden Age" competition, the provincial stage of the "Play, Bakhshi!" contest was held with great solemnity at the Seyitnazar Seydi State Music and Drama Theater in Lebap.
The provincial stage of the contest featured 20 talented bakhshis (traditional folk singers) and musicians who distinguished themselves in preliminary rounds. The spirited performances by these stage masters and the revival of our ancestors' ancient traditions through the voices of the youth left a lasting impression on the audience. The young participants demonstrated high levels of skill in performing folk songs and virtuosity in playing musical instruments.
Winners advance to the national stage
Following the results of the intense competition, the panel of judges announced the following talented young individuals as winners:
Bakhshi category:
- Merjen Amandurdyyeva (Danatar Ovezov Turkmen State Special Music School);
- Esen Atamyradov (Provincial Special School of Arts).
Instrumental category:
- Begul Batyrova (Danatar Ovezov Turkmen State Special Music School);
- Jeyhun Charyyev (Children's Art School of Kerkichi town, Dovletli district).
The winners earned the right to participate in the national stage, which is the most significant phase of the competition.
At the conclusion of the event, the organizers solemnly presented Certificates of Honor and commemorative gifts to all the talented youth who participated. This contest served not only to determine winners but also as further proof that our national art will leave an indelible mark on future generations.
